Sadiya is a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University and holds a Masters degree in Business and Commercial Law from Bayero University. She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2004. She has a combined work experience as a private legal practitioner and an in-house counsel at Development Finance Institutions. She headed the legal services of a DFI’s North Central Region and at another, was the Legal Counsel where as a pioneer staff, was instrumental to the set-up of the DFI’s Company Secretariat/legal department. Sadiya has garnered considerable experience in corporate and commercial legal practice and in development finance.

Sadiya has an advanced certificate in International Arbitration awarded by the Chartered Institute of Arbitration UK and was admitted as a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK. She trained at various institutions including the Smith’s School of Business Queen’s University Canada, International law Institute and Association of African Development Finance Institutions.
